Greenbelt, Maryland - Located just 12 short miles from Washington, DC, Greenbelt Park is a secluded oasis conveniently located to all of it's surroundings. We settled deep in the woods amidst the beautiful fall colors of changing leaves. This particular state park has no hook-ups, but if your rig is self-contained you're good to go. In addition there are shower & restroom facilities conveniently located throughout the park. It also happened to be Brett's birthday. Happy Birthday Brett! I'm sure glad you were born. He's not big on over the top birthday celebrations so we did a low-key celebration with cupcakes and of course a candle so he could make a big wish for his big day! Had we been at home I would've baked him a special cake for the occasion, but the cupcakes were satisfying nonetheless.

For dinner one big meal with left overs for a very busy week, always works great anytime we're "on the go." Which is usually par for the course. I like to do a variation of stir-fry to include my favorite veggies (broccoli, snow peas and some kind of squash), protein (turkey, chicken or tofu) and a grain (either brown rice or cous cous). Be creative when you make yours, I'm always changing mine and it's very easy! I always say that I know one dish a hundred different ways. On our way out of town we stopped in Virginia to see our dear friends Beth & Troy and their daughter. Brett made his famous turkey burgers and their two year old even enjoyed them so much she wanted seconds. In fact, she still asks Beth, turkey burger? The next day we enjoyed a nice dinner in Washington, DC with Brett's cousin & wife along with their new baby girl. Thank you all for your hospitality, we'll look forward to seeing you our next time through.
