Sedona, Arizona - We've had so much excitement and been doing so much that we have a lot to share. So keep checking back often as we are constantly posting. Sedona, AZ- Sedona on the 4th of July (or any time of year) is always a great spot to bring visitors of any age - even Brett's 90 year old Grandmother enjoyed it when we brought her out 2 years ago! The red soil and rocks alone are awe inspiring. It is always a few degrees cooler than Phoenix so come prepared with a light jacket or dress in layers.

Our trip wielded spectacular thunder and lightning storms, which made for some impressive cloud photos. Although, Sedona is a photographers dream in any weather. Sedona offers accommodations for any budget from high end resorts to tent camping - including an RV park (our choice) right in the heart of downtown. The river was still running strong behind our campsite, so make sure when you come bring your swim suits and plan to get wet - especially if it is summertime! For maps of the area, check out one of their many information centers where you will find maps of the area's hiking trails and all the vortexes that have made their home in Sedona. One of Brett & my favorite vortexes to visit is the Chapel of the Holy Cross a church literally built into the red rocks. The views are breath taking and you very quickly feel a sense of peace and calmness. Our favorite lunch spot is right off the main street and called Sedona Memories and it's the best sandwich shop around! Their specialty is their sandwiches made with home baked bread and fresh toppings stacked so high that you can barely get your mouth around them, but they also offer a variety of home baked goodies and all at a very fair price. An OTG Cooking Show tip: Be sure to get there between 10 am ' 2 pm and bring cash or you will be sandwich-less. Also keep in mind that they are closed weekends and your favorites may not always be available because once they're out - they're out! Sedona also offers great shopping. One stop we made at Son Silver West literally had EVERYTHING! If you are looking for a trinket for yourself, a gift for someone else or just the right piece of art or chachka (tchotchke) this is the place for you! There is also a local celebrity on site named Romeo, he is a tabby cat that loves to roam the grounds and can be quite fickle so be gentle in your greeting. You can't miss Sliver Son West, just look for one of their many signs - or the big white chicken! Sedona offers something for everyone from fine art and outdoor activities to spirituality, high end spas, massages, and shutterbugs. If you get the opportunity be sure to take advantage of this gem in the desert!
