Lava Hot Springs, Idaho - Lava Hot Springs is a small town in Eastern Idaho with a big draw. Natural hot springs and wild tube rides down the Portneuf River is sooo much fun! It's a wonderful stop that's just a little ways of the main highway, but well worth it. It seems as though you can rent a tube about every 100 feet down Main Street, there's never a shortage. The hot springs grounds are well kept with all the modern facilities included. It's soothing and comforting at the same time. There are about 4-5 hot pools ranging in temperatures from to 102 F-112 F degrees. OTG Cooking Show Tip: This was our third time back and we highly recommend coming on a weekday, unless you love large crowds. Although there are plenty of hotels and campgrounds, be sure make reservations ahead of time if you do plan on coming out during the weekend.
